Happy New Year, Neighbors! It’s 2025 and it’s all the way LIVE over here!! It’s also the one year anniversary of the Neighborhood.
I hope you enjoyed your holidays and enjoyed the show this past Saturday. If you missed it, the playlist is below. I revisited a few tunes that are timeless (PJ Morton, Mint Condition, Phonte) and will keep your fingers and feet patting the desks and grounds. I also kept it current (Common and Pete Rock, musclecars, JSWISS) because those particular songs are on their way to becoming golden in our music palettes.
Save the playlist in your New Year sections and let’s gear up for a beautiful and funky year of the Neighborhood! Thank you to everyone who listens and lets me know what tunes they liked. It means so much and I promise to keep you rocking with the grooves!
Be good to others and to yourself. #TOTHETOP
Mr. Al Pete is your guide through The Neighborhood, every Saturday night at 8 p.m. on WJCT News 89.9, part of JME Saturday Nights. The show re-airs on Sundays at 2 p.m. on The Independent 89.9 HD4.
