Austin, Texas-based multi-instrumentalists Being Dead have shared another dose of melodious, enjoyably madcap freak folk. On the ever-shifting “Goodnight,” the group seems intent on mimicking a sleep-cycle, unveiling several movements in three-and-half minutes of hauntingly retro harmonies, primal beats and playful instrumentation.
Being Dead’s new album, EELS, due out September 27 on Bayonet Records (preorder here), follows follows the band’s well-received 2023 debut, When Horses Would Run, an album that was much-anticipated and took years to release.
