Here's what played on this week's Jax Music Hour
Saturday, January 6 marked the premiere of the Jax Music Hour, a weekly radio show spotlighting Jacksonville musicians as well as touring artists coming through the area. As a lifelong Duval gal, I’ve been listening to WJCT News 89.9 since I was a kid—my dad always had it on in the car—and being part of my hometown public media station is a dream come true.
For the debut episode of the Jax Music Hour, I played a whole slew of Jacksonville artists, including R&B songstress Ebonique and new wave trio Glass Chapel.
On the touring-act side of things, we’re spinning artists who are playing the Fort Mose Jazz & Blues Series throughout February, plus Sunny War, who’ll be here at the WJCT Soundstage on January 13. There’s also a real emphasis on one of my all-time favorite songwriters, Lucinda Williams, who’s playing the Ponte Vedra Concert Hall on January 31.
Here’s what’s playing on the Jax Music Hour this week. Catch the show on the air on 89.9 WJCT News every Saturday at 8PM, part of JME Saturday Nights.
