R&B and soul band J & the Causeways perform from 6:30-8 p.m. on the Klutho Park main stage. Founded in New Orleans, the ensemble blends elements of rock, R&B and soul.
Formed at the legendary Maple Leaf Bar in New Orleans, this dynamic soul/R&B ensemble emphasizes the power of live performance to connect with audiences, regardless of size. Led by Jordan Anderson, whose musical roots trace back to his grandmother’s piano teaching, the band combines heavy backbeats and a vibrant horn section with Anderson’s passionate vocals. Inspired by legends like Otis Redding, Al Green and Aretha Franklin and drawing comparisons to contemporary acts like St. Paul & The Broken Bones, they aim to create a communal experience through their music, encouraging vulnerability and joy among listeners. Anderson believes in the transformative power of music, striving to uplift audiences with every performance.
