Nashville-by-way-of-Florida Nea-Americana artist Cacique Jakar performs from 3:45-5 p.m. at 1224 Laura St.
Cacique Jakar drives a new wave of hybrid artistry called Nea Americana. He appeals to music purists, as well as the syncretic multitude of Gen X, Millenial, and Gen Z fans, all at once. His smooth voice, moving melodies, poetic lyricism and musical spontaneity make for an electrifying act. Weaving through genres such as R&b, jazz, folk, rock, country, heavy tones from the Latin world as well elements of hip hop at times to form his unique sound. Following a sit in residency in the American music capital of Motown, USA, a successful independent tour and an extended pilgrimage to the country music capital, Nashville, Tennessee his physical limited edition debut The Gate will be available at this year’s festival.
