MORLEY makes her long awaited return to Jacksonville for her first concert here since her 2017 sold-out performance with Dave Eggar at the MOSH Planetarium. For this event, she will be performing in a trio setting with CHRIS BRUCE (Morley’s husband and musical partner) along with DAVE EGGAR. Morley’s songs include themes of love, peace and joy as well of human rights and environmental justice. Just what we need right now. Morley weaves the threads of jazz, soul and folk traditions into a singular tapestry of vocal and acoustic splendor. To date, Morley has released six albums of original songs via Sony, Universal and independently. five of which she self-produced as well as co-produced. She and and Chris recently wrote and performed the theme song for “That Kindness – A play for and by the Nurses of America” V (Formerly Eve Ensler of Vagina Monologues fame). As well, Morley and Chris (as The Bruces) produced and performed on the their debut Children’s- Family album, Story of the Sky by The Bruces & Friends (featuring many renowned guest artists for who they wrote ten of the nineteen songs). CHRIS BRUCE is an acclaimed and sought after multi-instrumentalist, producer, writer, recording, and touring musician. He is a longtime collaborator with Meshell Ndegeocello (including on her most recent Grammy winning record), My Brightest Diamond, Toshi Reagon, Lizz Wright, Seal, Trevor Horn and Paula Cole. Chris has been playing professionally since a very young aga and has recorded/toured with Tom Waits, Alanis Morissette, John Legend, Sheryl Crow, Billy Preston, Bettye LeVette and many others.
DAVE EGGAR renowned cellist, producer and songwriter, returns after a recent string of wildly successful shows in Jacksonville. Dave was a musical prodigy at a very young age. He was a student of the great American composer Aaron Copeland, as well as studying under legendary cellist Yo Yo Ma at Harvard. Dave’s deep skill set and musical knowledge has allowed him to perform, record, and arrange for top artists across an unheard of array of genres including Coldplay (yes, that’s him opening their mega-hit “Viva La Vida”), Amy Lee & Evanescence, Taylor Swift, Beyonce (and Jay Z), David Bowie, Roseanne Cash, Phillip Phillips,, Frank Ocean, Foreigner, Imagine Dragons, John Legend and Norah Jones to literally name just a few.
