Kelly/Scott Jazz 5tet

The Kelly/Scott Jazz 5tet, featuring Lisa Kelly JB Scott, Joshua Bowlus, Rick Ravelo, Clyde Connor perform at Chez L’Amour on January 27.

Performing together since the 1997 Montreux Jazz Festival, Switz, 8xDownbeat Magazine award winning vocalist Lisa Kelly and Warburton Trumpet artist JB Scott return to Chez L’Amour after their very well received show in December for a swingin’ night of jazz with a fabulous rhythm section of pianist Joshua Bowlus, bassist Rick Ravelo, and drummer Clyde Connor. Both Jax Jazz Fest “Hall of Fame” Inductees, Lisa and JB have toured throughout the greater U.S, Europe, Canada, and beyond, playing the countless stages of jazz dinner clubs, concert halls, major universities, cruise ships, to private gigs, and festivals. Their entertaining music sets include unique arrangements of Great American Songbook to Modern repertoire, pop tunes, originals, and spirited songs from New Orleans, in artful, improvisational styles of solid swing, Bossa Nova, pop, bebop, light funk, Bluesy shuffles, St. Beat, and more. Their interpretations are influenced by jazz notables Ella Fitzgerald, Diana Krall, Dianne Reeves, Renee Marie, Nat “King” Cole, Louis Armstrong, Clifford Brown, Clark Terry, Freddy Hubbard, Oscar Peterson, Art Tatum, A.C.
