JME Presents | Sunny War

JME Presents American-roots singer-songwriter Sunny War at the Bier Hall inside Intuition Ale Works on Friday, November 8.

With a guitar style that marries acoustic punk to country blues and a songwriting approach that lays it all — the good and the bad – on the line, Sunny War, the Nashville-based singer-songwriter was one of the most buzzed-about artists on the American-roots scene, even prior to the release of her 2023 full length, Anarchist Gospel.

Her fourth studio album, Anarchist Gospel speaks to the fleetingness of even the hardest-won stability, and features guest spots from Allison Russell, Jim James, Dave Rawlings, and Chris Pierce (her partner in the duo War & Pierce). The record has already been named one of the best albums of the year by Rolling Stone, Spin and MojoNPR Music called it “thrilling”; and the New Yorker calls Sunny War “an ascendent voice in roots music.” Listen here.
