Pianist and harpsichordist Hilda Huang performs at Friday Musicale, joined by clarinetist Giovanni Bertoni. Doors at 6:30 for 7pm concert, tickets $30-$40 general admission (member discount below).

Hilda Huang is a modern performer of historical music who brings together traditions of performance on piano and harpsichord.
Her work has earned international acclaim with the distinction of first prize at the Leipzig International Bach competition and appearances at the Leipzig and Montréal Bach Festivals. Hilda resides in Amsterdam and performs frequently in the United States, Netherlands, and Germany.

Giovanni Bertoni is the principal clarinetist of the Jacksonville Symphony. Prior to his 2019 appointment in Jacksonville, he was a member of the New World Symphony, directed by Michael Tilson Thomas. During the summers of 2018 and 2019 he was a fellow at the Tanglewood Music Center, where he worked with conductors such as Andris Nelsons, Thomas Adès and John Williams. Bertoni has performed in venues such as Weill Recital Hall and Stern Auditorium at Carnegie Hall, the Adrienne Arsht Center in Miami and the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. He participated in the Yale School of Music’s Norfolk Contemporary Ensemble Workshop, which culminated in a tour of Oviedo, Spain. Bertoni received first prize at the 2017 Backun International Clarinet Competition held in Nashville, Tennessee. Originally from Sassuolo, Italy, Bertoni holds degrees from the Yale School of Music and Oberlin Conservatory. His teachers include David Shifrin, Richard Hawkins, Ricardo Morales and Corrado Giuffredi.

Yun-Ting Kuo recently received a Graduate Performance Diploma and a Master of Music from the Peabody Institute of Johns Hopkins University, studying under Choong-Jin Chang and Victoria Chiang. Additionally, she holds a Joint Bachelor of Music degree from the Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music at the National University of Singapore and the Peabody Institute.

As a dynamic violist, Kuo has played with the Delaware Symphony Orchestra, the National Taiwan Symphony Orchestra, the Korean National Symphony Orchestra Academy and the Shanghai Symphony Orchestra Academy. She further enriched her musical journey by serving as a fellow at the Aspen Music Festival in 2018 and 2019, as well as the Tanglewood Music Center in 2023.
