Saxophonist Brittany Atterberry performs at Breezy Jazz House on Friday, April 26. Atterberry developed a love for playing instruments as a clarinet player first, around the age 10. During the ’90s when smooth jazz was explosive, Brittany was sonically introduced to the industries finest contemporary jazz artist on Cleveland’s 107.3 the Wave radio station. Her love at first sound was from artist such as Dave Koz, Candy Dulfer, Kirk Whalum, Kenny G and Gerald Albright. In high school, she began playing the saxophone and became obsessed with a tenor saxophone that she rented from the school. Years later, she pursued a degree in Music and graduated from Cleveland State University.
