Song of the Day | “GENESIS!” by Wahid

Savvy listeners who’ve tuned into Mr. Al Pete’s The Neighborhood (Saturdays at 9 p.m. on WJCT News 89.9) are surely familiar with the music of Orlando rapper Wahid.

On “GENESIS!” from the forthcoming full length, They All Go Mad!, out October 29 on Innovative Leisure (Badbadnotgood, Allah-Las, Ben Marc), the Sunshine State emcee turns his novelist eye to memoir, rapping about “learning the game like Playstation,” in his distinctive cadence over a Dilla-esque beat.
