Jacksonville Jazz Fest Weekend, plus Phoebe Bridgers and Bright Eyes
Each week, the JME team looks long and hard at the concert calendar to identify the best shows in Jacksonville. Our weekly Go recommendations are updated every Monday morning and are always available on jaxmusic.org.
Here’s the rundown of what JME contributors want to see and hear in and around Jacksonville this week.
Singer-Songwriter
Phoebe Bridgers – Wednesday, May 25
St. Augustine Amphitheatre | St. Augustine
Phoebe Bridgers 2020 album Punisher was nominated for four Grammy Awards and established the young artist as one of the most respected (and commercially bankable) singer-songwriters of her generation. Bridgers brings her Reunion Tour to The Amp on Wednesday.
Classical
Jax Symphony Coffee Series: Mozart & Juliet – Friday, May 27
Jacoby Symphony Hall | Downtown Jacksonville
The Jacksonville Symphony performs Mozart’s “Clarinet Concerto” and Tchaikovsky’s “Romeo and Juliet” during the symphony’s final daytime coffee series of the 2021-2022 season.
Jazz
Jacksonville Jazz Festival – Friday, May 27-Sunday, May 29
Riverfront Plaza and Ford on Bay | Downtown Jacksonville
From icons like Herbie Hancock to rising stars like Jazzmeia Horn and Christian Sands to contemporary barrier-breakers like Robert Glasper, the Jacksonville Jazz Festival’s 2022 lineup is arguably its best in years –– given the revered 40-plus-year history of the festival, that’s saying something.

After a long hiatus the band is touring again, with a stop at The Amp on Saturday.
